Coastal Wedding Officiants

Q: How much do you charge?

A: When we meet on the phone or in person, we will talk about your plans for your ceremony and I will be able to accurately quote you a fee. The fee is based on the time spent writing, customizing and editing your ceremony, length and additions to the ceremony, travel time to and from your venue, my participation at the rehearsal, involvement with event planners, proper filing of the marriage license and more. Generally, my fees range from $200 to $500 depending on these factors.

Q: What is included in a full ceremony?

A: For a fully customized ceremony, my services include:

• Initial complimentary consultation
• Follow up meetings prior to your wedding day
• Unlimited telephone and email consultations
• Ability to add ceremonial elements
• One of a kind ceremony that is uniquely yours
• Assistance if you want to write your own wedding vows
• Rehearsal option (additional fee)
• Performing the ceremony
• Filing of License

Q: Do I need to give you a deposit? When is the balance due?

A: Deposits will lock in your day. Typically, deposits are 50% of the total fee.  Balances are due before the ceremony, either during rehearsal or upon your arrival to the ceremony site. This allows you to relax and enjoy your day without having to stop your celebration to find the envelope/check.

Q: Do you give a military discount?

A: Yes! I offer a military discount to active duty and retired veterans.

Q: Do you perform quick “I do” type of ceremonies?

A: Yes.  For couples looking for an elopement or “I do” ceremony, I will perform a short, prewritten, non-denominational or secular ceremony for you and up to four guests at a location near to me for $200.

Q: Do you charge travel fees?

A: If your ceremony will be more than 45 mile from my residence in Wilmington, there will be a travel charge of $.50/mile and $25 an hour for travel time. Hotel accommodations may be required if the ceremony is more than two hours away.

Q: Do you charge more for holidays?

A: Major Holidays are an additional fee of $100. Major holidays include: New Years, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There are additional fees for Sunrise ceremonies as well.
